Prophets: The Chosen Messengers

Allah did not just create us and leave us by ourselves in this world without any guidance. Humans can only figure out certain things in life, so He chose specific righteous people to communicate His message to. By this, we could learn how to live and what to do. These chosen people are called Prophets or Messengers. These Messengers were sent to every group of people that ever lived, so there must have been several thousands of them. Twenty five of them are mentioned by name in the Quran. The first Prophet of God was the first human being - Adam AS and the final prophet was Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. 

The life of the Prophet ﷺ is called Seerat-un-Nabi or in short Seerah. The Sunnah refers to the teachings, wisdom, and way of life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. His statements and actions are compiled by scholars in books, and each one is called a Hadith. These hadiths have different levels of authenticity, depending on highly structured way that they have been compiled that the chains of narration have been preserved; Some hadith are weak and some are strong. So you must be careful about what to follow. In time, you will learn to tell the difference.
